Build a film Canister rocket

You will need!

- One empty 35mm plastic film canister and lid. These are getting harder to find, but stores that develop film should have some. (The white canisters work much better than the black ones do.)

- One fizzing antacid tablet (such as Alka-Seltzer – Get this from your parents)

- Water

- Safety goggles

What to do?

Put on those safety goggles and head outside – no really, when this works, that film canister really flies! If you want to try the indoor version, do not turn the canister upside down in step 5.

Break the antacid tablet in half.

Remove the lid from the film canister and put a teaspoon (5 ml) of water into the canister.

Do the next 2 steps quickly

Drop the tablet half into the canister and snap the cap onto the canister (make sure that it snaps on tightly.)

Quickly put the canister on the ground CAP SIDE DOWN and STEP BACK at least 2 meters.

About 10 seconds later, you will hear a POP! and the film canister will launch into the air!

Caution: If it does not launch, wait at least 30 second before examining the canister. Usually the cap is not on tight enough and the build up of gas leaked out.

How does it work?

There’s nothing like a little rocket science to add some excitement to the day. When you add the water it starts to dissolve the alka-seltzer tablet. This creates a gas call carbon dioxide. As the carbon dioxide is being released, it creates pressure inside the film canister. The more gas that is made, the more pressure builds up until the cap it blasted down and the rocket is blasted up. This system of thrust is how a real rocket works whether it is in outer space or here in the earth’s atmosphere. Of course, real rockets use rocket fuel. You can experiment controlling the rocket’s path by adding fins and a nose cone that you can make out of paper.

The average temperature of the planets

Within the Solar System, the average temperature on: • Pluto is around -235°C, • Neptune around -220°C, • Uranus -210°C, • Saturn -184°C, • Jupiter -153°C. • The temperature on Mars varies between about -87°C and -5°C, with an average of around -46°C. • The lowest natural temperature on Earth (recorded at Vostok, Antarctica in 1983) is -89°C; the highest surface temperature on Earth (recorded at Al 'Aziziyah, Libya in 1922) is 58°C; the mean overall temperature on Earth is 14°C. Planet Biography. Planets Surface Temperatures. Why temperatures differs from planets to planets? In general, the surface temperature decreases as the distance from the sun increases. Venus is an exception because its dense atmosphere acts as a greenhouse and heats the surface above the lead's melting point of 880 ° F (471 ° C).

The Difference Between Being Intelligent And Being Wise

Intelligent : •   wise, cunning, capable of thinking and reason Wisdom: • The state of being wise • Ability to use knowledge and / or experience wisely • Able to determine what is wise against what is unwise • A saying, a philosophy or other advice considered wise In Short:  An intelligent man has a whole sea of knowledge and knows every fact. On the other hand, a wise man does not have all the knowledge that an intelligent man has, but he has the brain to know when to use knowledge. I have seen a lot of smart people make really stupid decisions. I was one of those people! The information I had before and after these decisions has not changed. But with every wrong decision, if I was willing to learn, my level of wisdom changed. The main difference is that: A smart or intelligent person knows how to solve any problem. A wise person knows how to avoid this problem. Knowledge makes a person intelligent. Experience makes a person wise.

Electric Flux

Electric field can be quantitatively described by using the concept of electric flux. Electric flux is the number of electric field lines penetrating a surface or passing through a surface. The electric field can be uniform or non-uniform. Let us now try to find the electric flux passing through a surface when the field is uniform.

10 Things That Nobody Will Tell You About Life

• If you are unemployed for a long time, no one will give you value or courage, not even your loved ones. Trust me.  • Aesthetic appearance, great physique, impressive social skills, unique career: people must have at least one of these four qualities, otherwise they will not have a dating life. • Most people lie because they talk about divine love. But in reality, they give the highest priority to sexual pleasure instead of love to establish a relationship. • Social networks are highly responsible for extramarital affairs and creating social anarchy. • Online is not a safe place for anyone because the number of perverts, extremists, pedophiles, abusers and stalkers has increased today. • Those people who continually upload their image on social networks are attention seekers, addicted to social networks and most of them are not good people as a person. Do not fall in love with them. • Sometimes you have to ignore people, break the law and follow a different path...

Silt

Silt is granular material of a size somewhere between sand and clay, whose mineral origin is quartz and feldspar. Silt may occur as a soil or as sediment mixed in suspension with water (also known as a suspended load) in a body of water such as a river. It may also exist as soil deposited at the bottom of a water body. Silt has a moderate specific area with a typically non-sticky, plastic feel. Silt usually has a floury feel when dry, and a slippery feel when wet. Silt can be visually observed with a hand lens. Sources:- Silt is created by a variety of physical processes capable of splitting the generally sand-sized quartz crystals of primary rocks by exploiting deficiencies in their lattice. These involve chemical weathering of rock and regolith, and a number of physical weathering processes such as frost shattering and haloclasty. The main process is abrasion through transport, including fluvial comminution, aeolian attrition and glacial grinding. It is in semi-arid envir...
